At Maxout Hydrosports, we are in the business of watersports adventures – wakeboard, wakeskate, wakesurf – and yacht charters for events and parties. But most of all, we are in the passion of making your life out of the city an adventure worth writing about!

On 1st and 2nd March 2008, Maxout Hydrosports will be hosting its biggest event of the year, Westside Jam 2008, at Raffles Marina, Singapore. Besides launching Singapore’s biggest sea-floating funbox, we are presenting a regional wakeboard, wakeskate and wakesurf competition as well as a bikini contest on a yacht.

We would like you to be a part of this exciting ringside party onboard a convoy of yachts – Fan Rong, Carpe Diem and Oriental Dream. Our super-yacht berth at Raffles Marina, Singapore, will be transformed into Singapore’s first true seafront stadium and you are invited!

For a preview of what’s to come, please join us on 22 February 2008 from 2-3pm for a sneak peek of the funbox. Our instructors will show you some acrobatic tricks on the water and even give you a lesson or two on wakeboarding. We’re warning you though, it can be addictive.

What do the CEO of a major power generation company and a watersports entrepreneur have in common?

Besides owning yachts that are berthed at Raffles Marina, Singapore, both are involved in launching Singapore’s first sea-floating and biggest-ever watersports funbox – a world-class, custom-built slider for wakeboard and wakeskate tricks.

Westside Jam 2008 is a two-day weekender event that launches this gigantic, 70-foot funbox that cost $15,000 to build. This event is also a platform for adrenaline junkies and regional pros to showcase their tricks and stunts and compete in three categories: wakeboard, wakeskate and wakesurf. Besides earning peer recognition, the competitors stand to win cash and product prizes totaling more than S$50,000 including two signed Manchester United team jerseys that were last sold at an auction for S$20,000 each.

The super-yacht berth at Raffles Marina, Singapore, will be transformed into a seafront stadium just for this event. Spectators, invited guests and competitors can choose to mingle on the berth, or on one of the three event yachts – Fan Rong, Carpe Diem and Oriental Dream.

There’s plenty to do over the two days. You can get baked on the beach, catch the competition, sign up for some wakeboarding lessons, or hang out with a tipple or two. In addition to a rocking party vibe of pumping music and a floating beer bar, a bikini contest by Fish Head Bikinis will set the temperature rising. And do stay for the spectacular sunset.

The Maxout retail boutique will showcase a preview of the latest products from some of the world’s coolest, performance-driven watersports brands such as Gator Boards (championship wakeboards, wakeskates and accessories), O’Neil (watersports apparel), Underground Products (the preferred street label of worldwide wakeboard, wakeskate and BMX champs), Nice (wake, kite, snow and surf bindings and accessories) and Fish Head (boating, fishing and lifestyle apparel).

Registration for the wakeboard, wakeskate and surf competition is $80 per rider (fee is waived for Open Invitational riders). The bikini contest costs $30 per entry and includes a set of Fish Head bikini. Closing date is 25 February 2008.

Annex 1: Triple Wake Competition

The Triple Wake Competition – Wakeboard, Wakeskate, Wakesurf - will have Men’s and Women’s Open and Freeride Categories for wakeboarding, Mixed Freeride and Open for wakeskaters, Mixed Open for wakesurf and Mixed Under 12s for wakeboarding as well as a Best Trick Funbox Competition. The Open Category for wakeboard and wakeskate are based on an invitational basis whereas the rest of the categories are open to the public at a registration fee of $80 per entry. The top three winners of the Open wakeboard and wakeskate categories stand to win products and a total cash prize of S$3,600.
